Bairnsdale Women Against Waste Event

A women's clothes swap + so much more

A biannual event for the women of East Gippsland to come together to swap, donate, mend, recycle, learn and laugh together as we save money, keep things out of landfill, divert quality items to community organisations and curate our clothing collections.

How it works
Clean out your wardrobe and bring along your unwanted women’s clothing and accessories to swap. Sort them out onto the provided tables and hang on the supplied clothing racks according to size and type. Then start ‘shopping’. It doesn’t matter how much you bring or take with you; it’s all about connecting unwanted items with new homes who can use them.
While you’re having a clean out, also search your home for other unwanted household items types that we will be collecting on the day for local community and charity organisations. These include books, DVDs, CDs, glasses, children’s clothes and toys, bras, bags, sanitary products, fabric and sewing equipment. See below for all the details.
Also check out the other great things happening at the event including the Mending Station, Recycling Station, shopping for ethical & sustainable products and learning more about reducing waste at home.

Registration fee $10.

Bring it along for help with simple mending, or better still, learn how to do it yourself! We have a small team of wonder women ready to help and teach you on the day.
